So I thought my next blog post would be one filled with
pictures of our new little baby boy. Sadly we had one more trip to the hospital
before the baby and it wasn't even for me!
Thursday morning at about 3am Mack woke up with a horrible stomach
ache. He moved from couch to bed all night trying to sleep. In the morning he
seemed like he was going to get sick so he stayed home from work and rested. Then
later that night we went over to his parents’ house for some company. Mack
seemed to be getting better until about 8pm where he all of a sudden became
really painful, dizzy and nauseated. Thankfully his dad had not left for China
and Jesse was hanging out there too, so they gave him a quick blessing. Poor
Mack had a hard time even getting home and put up no fight about me driving him
home. He was still pretty sure he would get to work tomorrow morning.
However Friday morning was no better. And by the time I left
work at 2, he had talked to his dad and the Doctor who both seemed to think
this was not just the flu anymore and might be something more like appendix (which
by the way I had said he might have as a joke the night before…). So we took
him to the ER.
Luckily we got in very quickly and the doctors very quickly
decided that it was indeed Appendicitis. We had many blessing that night. Zach
had time to bring me lunch/dinner. Then Jesse and Hannah came to give support.
The doctors got Mack in to surgery very quickly and were able to do it with
minimum openings. They also got him out of surgery just in time to rush down to
the basement before the big storms (thankfully Stillwater only got rain,
lightning and thunder and a little hail). And to top it all off the wonderful
Jesse and Hannah were able to get to our house grab all of my things (who would
have thought I would have needed my hospital bag before I went in to labor) get
to the hospital and get home almost unscathed. They did get a flat tire L
Mack recovered from the anesthesia rather well. He did tell
me that I should absolutely not have a C-section. Shout out to Whitney for
having one! Mack now feels a little bit of your pain! We did spend the night at
the hospital, which I can now tell you from experience the little hospital
chair is not conducive to sleep when you are 9 months pregnant. But we are now
how and Mack is resting.
The doctors said it was a very early case of appendicitis. I
think the biggest blessing has come from little Mr. Stetson! The doctor has
been saying for the last two weeks that he thinks I could have the baby very
very soon, and honestly I was hoping that I would. Stetson, on the other hand,
I think, knew that Daddy would be having some trouble soon and so decided to
hold off on making his grand entrance until Dad was safe from harm. I am so
thankful for such a thoughtful baby already.
I am thankful to all the blessings and all those who said
prayers and who checked up on us! I am also thankful that both of my boys are
safe and healthy for the time being!

Glad Mack's doing okay (and you too :)! Tell him he's need to get better soon so it can be your turn. Love you guys and miss you greatly.
